Jon Clark
I have worked with Hot Glass for the past 40 years making sculpture. Recently, I decided to return to a different creative activity that got me started back making when my creative passion was original and unabashed.
My new work for the past 4 years has been watercolor paintings of found objects.
I find enigmatic forms on the island of Bonaire in the Dutch Antilles in the Caribbean and take these “Objects of Desire” back to the studio to nurture through sessions of observation and consideration. I work with these objects to create compositions for an interesting departure with watercolor. After that first session they are reworked with various non-traditional tools and methods for the finished work.
